“BABY SAYS”

This is played with a group of children. Ask children to stand facing you as you give ideas for ways to sound or move like a baby. For example,” Baby says: coo like a baby!” Continue with other baby sounds: squeal, giggle, cry, bang and splash, and clap hands, Remind children to follow your directions to follow your directions only if you start with “BABY SAYS”

“Nature Hunt”

take a basket outside and go for a walk around your neigh hood. Look for items that that you can put into your basket, rocks, pinecones, small sticks, acorns, leaves dried up berries, flowers etc. After your walk bring the items inside, clean anything that may need to be cleaned. Put the items on a table with odds and ends you find around the house. Paper, glue string etc. Make a collage or any type of picture for display at home or to give away as a keepsake for a loved one.

“Thank you sign language Freeze Tag”

To sign thank you in sign language, take you hand to your chin and move it forward. Pick a child to be “it” when a child is tagged you must freeze, if someone unfreezes the child they must say thank you and sign it before entering back into the game.

“Scavenger Hunt”

Make a list of photos of items that you can see outdoors in your back yard or neighborhood. Steps, trees, bushes, swings, toys, flowers etc. Display the photos somewhere outside, it could on a table or taped to a tree. Have each child look around for the items on the list of photos. Check off each item found until all of the items are found. You can also use magnifying glasses to investigate your findings.

“Amazing Chalk”

Make a race track or a road using chalk. You can add as much or as little detail to you track or road. Use a verity of small cars trucks and vehicles to run on your tack. You can as much as you would like to your track. invite other friends to join in on the fun.
